Acropora (Acropora sp.), Three weeks in display.
Picture taken June 2006, Nikon D70 Digital SLR, Sigma 105mm Macro lens

This is a unidentified species of Acropora.

It is a very small frag that I purchased at my LFS. It was under 1 inch in size when added to the display about 3 weeks ago.

Not only has it encrusted a new base, one branch has attached to the rock and started to encrust another base. This acropora does have blue highlights but its final color is not clear yet.

Acropora (Acropora sp.), Three months later.

This image shows the frag almost 3 months later.

It is showing decent encrusting growth as well as some interesting color changes.

Acropora (Acropora sp.), Three months later.

An additional three month later. Growth rate seems to have slowed down a bit.

It appears to be encrusting a strong base and generating several new branches.

Acropora (Acropora sp.), 12 months later.

Just over 12 months later this coral is showing very rapid growth. The blue growth tips are still evident but overall the colony is not as colorful as I wished for. Still a pretty coral however.
