Zoanthus pulchellus
Picture taken April 1999, Sony Mavica FD91 digital camera, no flash This colony of Brown Button Polyp (Zooanthid) Anemones were added to the tank on April 2nd, 1999. These were acquired by a cutting trade with a fellow reefkeeper. This coral is excellent for beginners. It really doesn't get easier than these. They adapt well to all light types. These corals are closely related to anemones. They are colonial and may be connected to each other by coenenchyma or stolon extension and polyp budding. Although the appear very brown in these pictures they have a nice green tone under actininc lighting. |
