RowaPhos Chemical Filtration Media

RowaPhos is a product from Europe which unlike traditional phosphate removers, it does not use aluminum oxides to remove phosphates, it uses ferrous (iron) oxides. The advantages are that aluminum is not released into the tank and the ferrous oxides can remove greater amounts of phosphate.

It is a very effective product for removing phosphates. However some hobbyist report that SPS corals may bleach after using this product. It is suspected that the product can cause an alkalinity and/or pH drop rapidly enough to trigger this event. Monitor your values while using this product and correct as necessary.
