I purchased my colony of Red Mushroom Anemones on August 17th, 1997. The rock had less than 20 of them and covered about 40% of the rock. They have since reproduced to uncountable numbers with 100% coverage of the original rock and they are spreading to near by rocks. In fact they can be found in all areas of the tank.

These mushrooms are easy to care for. They like low water currents and intense light. Many mushrooms corals like moderate to low light levels. These were off-center of a metal halide light when I purchased them. They require no direct feeding.

At one time I did admire the beauty of mushrooms. But years later they have grown to uncontrolled numbers. I have given countless dozens away and tossed out even more of them.

If I could find a store willing to give me cash for these critters I'd be a rich man.

This rock has 100% coverage in a 360 degree circle.  The white specs are sand from the gobies.
