This is a really neat sea star I just had to have. The body of this animal is about the size of a US Penny. The arms however are each close to 1 foot long. It's rare to find such long arms on a sea star.

These pictures were taken within seconds of it being added to the tank. I knew this sea star would hide and I would never see it fully again. After adding it, I didn't see it again for close to a month and I only saw a glimps of just a single arm. I'm amazed that this critter can hide so well. Its color matches the sand very well and makes spotting it difficult.
