Purple Tip Acropora
Picture was taken in March 2002 with a Nikon Coolpix 950 Digital Camera, No Flash I've had this coral for a while. Never documented it because it seemed like this coral was not going to make it. To the left you can see the original branches which while still alive show no growth at all. However the base of the coral did encrust and sent up new branches which look nothing like the original branches. Some green montipora is attempting to take the space but this coral is fighting it off. The green montipora has decided to grow around it instead. |

Picture was taken in June 2002 with a Nikon Coolpix 950 Digital Camera, No Flash This coral has shown some excellent growth since I changed my lights from 400w 10kk Ushio to 250w 10kk HQI. The original branches still show no new growth. Notice how this coral is winning against the green montipora and has encrusted over it. |
