Blue Acropora (Acropora sp.), several weeks after being mounted.
Picture taken December 2006, Nikon D70 Digital SLR, Sigma 105mm Macro Lens This is a unidentified species of acropora obtained from fellow reef keeper Peter Weis. It has been a very slow grower for the first few weeks showing very little growth or base encrusting. Recently it has started to show signs of growth such as the single tall blue branch. This frag is less than 2 inches tall. UPDATE: This colony was lost during the spring of 2008 after getting over shadowed by other colonies. |
