Unidentified SPS Coral #1. Picture was taken in March 1999
Sony Mavica FD91 digital camera. I thought this was a Porite, but several have suggest that it is not. And so far no-one has been able to provide a guess based on this picture alone. This coral was a survivor from the original live rock cure. Originally bleached, and left in the bottom of the cure tube for over a week with no lights and no filtration -- the rock was almost tossed in the trash. However I saw some fuzzy white growth on it and decided to see what happens. Within days it started to turn light brown and show polyp expansion. It has since been doing rather well. |
