Picture taken August 2005, Nikon D70 Digital SLR, Sigma 105mm EX macro lens Limpets are animals known for their ability to cling to rocks. Limpets do not use suction, instead they have a very strong muscular foot that grab onto small imperfections in the rock. Limpets have a distinctive, oval shaped shell, with the peak more-or-less near the center. Limpets are primarily algae grazers including coralline algae. |
