Acropora samoensis
Picture was taken in February 2000 with a Nikon CoolPix 950 Digital Camera, No Flash Obtained February 12th, 2000. This is a frag of Acropora samoensis just after being mounted. It is a neon yellow color. The frag was given to me by Rich Knecht (aka RichK). To the left you can see a few bumble bee snails. Not sure what the Latin name of them are. |
Acropora samoensis

Acropora samoensis. Picture was taken in July 2002.
Nikon CoolPix 950 Digital Camera, Titanium Macro Lens, No Flash I had a very large Acropora tortuosa growing in front of this coral. I haven't been able to get a decent picture of it. In July 2002 I removed most of the tortuosa and I was able to get this picture of the samoensis. The coral is no longer a yellow shade but a very nice green shade which is fine with me. I lost most of this coral in 2001 it bleached out. I removed all the branches. It encrusted a new base and has several new branches growing. |
