Tank sitting in garage waiting for stand
As you can see above the tank was sitting in my garage, still wrapped as I waited 8 weeks for the stand to arrive. If your interested, HERE is the story on why the stand took so long. |

Tank stand in my living room
Here is the tank stand right after it arrived, placed in my dinning room. I did not have enough people ready to lift the tank and place it on the stand (its over 450 lbs.) Thats OK, my wife and I had to have a few "discussions" on just how far I planned on keeping this tank away from the wall. I wanted 10 inches, she wanted 3 or less. I got it under 6 inches. |

Floor Reinforcements to hold tank weight
You can imagine the weight of this tank is going to be quite a bit. Since this tank is not on the ground floor, I decided it was best to spend some money on reinforcing the floor. This is not a full size basement, it is a crawl space. The beam on-top is a 8 foot solid 4x6 pressure treated beam. That beam is supported by three solid pressure treated 4x4 posts. These posts rest on a different type of pressure treated lumber (not sure of the name). The lumber is from a cross bar used on a telephone pole. This is aged ultra hard lumber. The circular saw had a tough time cutting it and jammed frequently. |

So just how heavy is heavy? Well this is my guess on how much the tank weighs:

Tank just placed onto Stand
It wasn't easy moving the tank from the garage to the dinning room. We had to go around the house, enter the front door, pass threw the living room, go into the kitchen, and finally to the dinning room. But we made it and nobody got killed in the process. While closely inspecting the tank I found a few small cracks the scared the life out of me. |
